INDICATIONS FOR SURGERY

Operative treatment of an ACL tear is indicated when a patient has functional instability with activities of daily living or when a patient wishes to return to cutting and twisting type sports. A desire to return to a high risk manual labor occupation with climbing or work on uneven ground may also serve as an indication for surgery.
