Welcome to the Tendinopathy page of ApexPRP.

Tendinopathy is a generic term for either acute or chronic tendon pathology.  It encompasses both tendonitis (also spelled tendinitis) and tendinosis.  Tendonitis is an acute inflammation of tendons.  Tendinosis is a chronic degenerative condition of tendons.  Tennis elbow is the classic example of tendinosis.

Rotator Cuff, Patellar and Achilles tendinopathy are also quite common.  Many treatments exist for tendinopathy.  Percutaneous application of platelet rich plasma is presently being investigated as a biologic treatment for this disorder.
